INTRODUCTION

Servers host rooms on eQSO. They are a vital part of the system. In addition to the main eQSO server (The K5JD Dallas Server) there are many smaller conference servers run by amateurs on home computers. The eQSO Server software makes setting up your own server a simple task. To learn more about eQSO Servers, see the Server FAQ Pages.

SETTING UP A SERVER

The eQSO Server software is time tested and totally reliable. It can be installed in minutes. The Setting up a Server Help file describes the software. If you do encounter a problem, it will almost certainly be due to the way you connect to the Internet. However, the Server FAQ Pages offer solutions to the most common problems.

WINDOWS OR LINUX?

In addition to the Windows version, there is now a Linux Server. Although it runs as a daemon application with no GUI front-end whatsoever, it is pretty straightforward to use. To learn more about the eQSO-X Linux program, click HERE

446 USERS, CB OPERATORS and SHORT WAVE LISTENERS (SWL’s)

This version of the software is for radio amateur use only. Non-amateurs can download similar software from 446user.co.uk

DOWNLOAD CURRENT VERSION
All potential server operators must first register with eQSO before they can download the software. Immediately after you submit your registration request you will see a new web page with the download link. Click the link and install the software. As soon as your amateur radio callsign has been verified, you will be sent a unique password and key via e-mail. These are needed to activate the software.
